Jane’s Walk Weekend is Back—and Bigger than Ever

All of the MAS-sponsored walks combine the simple act of exploring neighborhoods with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement. A typical walk is 90 minutes and is free and open to the public.

• Raise a pint to 200 years of brewing history in Bushwick
• As Lin-Manuel croons, “It’s quiet uptown!” Visit Alexander Hamilton’s home and imagine West 141st Street when it was still a meadow

• Arepas, bahn mi, and bubble tea by the light of the moon: Tour New York’s foodiest borough at the Queens Night Market

• The Hills are Alive! Get a sneak peek at the newest section of Governor’s Island and catch a glimpse of the New York harbor from 70 feet in the air [*limited capacity]
• Six new acres are coming to Brooklyn Bridge Park in 2017—come on an exclusive hard hat tour of the Pier 5 uplands
• Hike through century-old trees in Manhattan’s only surviving primordial forest
• Grab a map from 1667 and walk the surviving streets of Dutch Nieuw Amsterdam
• Get an insider’s glimpse at the renovations of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a New York City landmark
• Join “Jane Jacobs” (WNYC’s Jim O’Grady) and her nemesis “Robert Moses” (WNYC’s Brooke Gladstone) for a walking debate through Park Slope
