MAS Board President Vin Cipolla Continues Leadership on Key Livability Issues; Margaret Newman Transitions to MAS as Executive Director

Vin and Margaret As previously announced, Margaret Newman has joined MAS as its Executive Director, the first to hold that position since 2007. Vin Cipolla continues in his role as board President. Cipolla had chosen to return to entrepreneurship — after five years running day-to-day operations at MAS — and has joined forces with David Rockwell, founder and President of the Rockwell Group, to form a new company that will create, incubate, invest or co-invest in a range of design-driven enterprises in media technology, entertainment and hospitality. “MAS has terrific momentum in every aspect of its program and operations,” stated Cipolla. “I was thrilled to announce Margaret Newman’s appointment in December as Executive Director to assume responsibility for MAS’s day-to-day operations, and I’m thrilled to continue to serve MAS as Board President in a non-executive capacity while I return to the private sector.” Cipolla along with MAS Chairman Eugenie Birch lead a distinguished Board of Directors of 40 private citizens steering policy for the 121-year old institution on matters of livability in New York City.
