Ever wondered how art can transform your daily commute? Join this virtual speaker session celebrating 40 years of Arts & Design and discover the creativity that surrounds you across the transit system. Using Grand Central Terminal and Grand Central Madison as an example, you’ll get an inside look at how art brings the MTA system to life.

See works by artists like Yayoi Kusama and Kiki Smith, and explore the full range of Arts & Design programs, including permanent mosaics, glass and metal artworks, digital art, photography exhibitions, posters, poetry, and live music.

After the session, continue exploring at your own pace with self-guided walking tours across the NYC subway, Metro-North, LIRR, and MTA Bridges & Tunnels using the Bloomberg Connects app.

Accessibility

This is a virtual event hosted online, making it accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. Participants can join from home or another comfortable setting, with no physical walking required. The session will include a live presentation with visuals. Closed captioning will be enabled. Attendees are welcome to engage via chat, submit questions through the Q&A function, or simply listen. Following the talk, participants will be invited to explore optional, self-guided walking tours the MTA system using the Bloomberg Connects app. These tours can be completed at your own pace.
