Learn how to lead a Jane's Walk!

Join MAS for Jane’s Walk 2018– an annual festival of citizen-led walking tours inspired by urban activist, Jane Jacobs! Share your passion for the city by leading a walk this coming May 4- 6! Walks combine the simple act of exploring the city with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement.

Interested in joining the Jane’s Walk movement but looking for inspiration? We invite you to attend an Information Session at MAS (488 Madison Avenue) to get some tips from veteran walk leaders and learn about the resources available in planning and leading a Jane’s Walk.

Jane’s Walk NYC

On May 7 and 8, MAS organizes the first annual Jane’s Walk NYC, a weekend of free citizen-led “walking conversations” honoring activist Jane Jacobs. Today, the New York festival is the largest Jane’s Walk in the world, bringing thousands of New Yorkers onto the streets for more than 200+ walks around the five boroughs.
