The Unforgettable Women of Washington Square

Janes Walk

Led By Diana Leidel

Washington Square has been a swirling vortex of activity and culture since its emergence from swamps and small farms in the 18th century. Women have been important leaders and participants, but the extent of their lives and actions have not been fully realized. This Walk, a circumlocution, will highlight 65+ women, famous and infamous, introduce us to women we didn’t know existed, and offer some surprises on the way.
