Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn

From Start to Finish

With Francis Morrone

Brooklyn’s Vanderbilt Avenue runs between Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Moving through Prospect Heights (where Vanderbilt is the “high street”), through the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park development, through Fort Greene and into Wallabout, Vanderbilt affords a look at a striking swath of Brooklyn, with streetscapes both epic and intimate. Landmarks along the way include the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza, St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral, Queen of All Saints Church, the Brooklyn Masonic Temple, and much more.
