[In-person tour] Long before the High Line, Chelsea’s waterfront was a 24-7 mercantile district, crowded with factories and warehouses. Architectural historian Matt Postal considers how this now fashionable neighborhood evolved during the 20th century, emphasizing buildings associated with commerce, industry and labor, such as the Otis Elevator Company, the Seaman’s YMCA, the National Biscuit Company, and the National Maritime Union.

For all tours, there are no refunds, cancellations, or exchanges unless we cancel a tour. Online registration closes one hour prior to the tour start time.
