Each week we will bring you news on issues related to New York City’s livability. Feel free to comment or post a link to other interesting articles about our city. Esquire profiles Commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation (and bike and pedestrian plaza advocate) Janette Sadik-Khan in their Best and Brightest issue. “We’re updating our streets to reflect the way people live now,” she said. “And we’re designing a city for people, not a city for vehicles.” The Vanderbilt Tennis Club above Grand Central Terminal, which MAS visited last year, is currently accepting advanced reservations. The space, which used to be a CBS recording studio, will open next fall. The New York Times offers an appreciation of Penn Station as New York City’s commuting gateway.
