Led By Robert (Bob) Marks

A one mile walk through the scenic and historic section of Washington Heights, now also known as Hudson Heights. Starting at Bennett Park, the site of Fort Washington and ending in Fort Tryon Park, home of the Cloisters, we will discuss the Battle of Fort Washington, the majestic George Washington Bridge, the castles and mansions that were built in the area, the accomplishments of Saint Mother Cabrini, the Hudson River, the origins of the art collection at the Cloisters and whatever else we may pass along the way. The walk will take about an hour and a half. The terrain is relatively flat with some steps in Fort Tryon Park.
