A Mighty Fortress: The Churches of Stuyvesant Heights

With Suzanne Spellen & Morgan Munsey

[In-person tour] Brooklyn has always been known as the “City of Churches,” and nowhere is that more evident than in Central Brooklyn, especially Stuyvesant Heights. Protestant, Catholic and Jewish houses of worship can be found throughout the neighborhood. Many were designed by prominent architects who specialized in sacred spaces, while others were the work of the same architects who designed homes in the area, and in other late 19th century developing neighborhoods. This tour focuses on the original congregations, the rich history and importance of the Black Church in Brooklyn and the superior architecture that unites them all. The tour will include one or more interiors.

For all tours, there are no refunds, cancellations, or exchanges unless we cancel a tour. Online registration closes one hour prior to the tour start time.
