41 Things About 41st Street on My 41st Birthday

Janes Walk

Led By Eddie Jones

Ever find yourself walking a street wondering about what historical, interesting or “Only In New York” things have happened to make it look or feel a certain way? In every walking tour, I get curious and excited about something new to learn. After sharing (too many) of these tales with my non-walking tour nerd friends, I decided to try out a Jane’s Walk to give back. (It’s also my birthday weekend and I love a good theme party). On the tour, I’ll bring together 41 things about 41st street from my 41-year old perspective. We’ll talk about Tudor City and that playground by FDR drive to the far east. Then we’ll pass Grand Central, Bryant Park, the New York Times building, Port Authority and end at Hudson Yards. If enthusiastic, broad, and sometimes irreverent historical gems from a passionate amateur are your thing, join me!

Accessibility

We’ll be walking on sidewalks from 2nd Ave to 9th Ave, and all the provisions of the city’s accessibility efforts apply. The tour has a natural break at Bryant Park for those who want the shorter version and trains are nearby all along midtown. Eddie is the loudest of any of his friends, and will not have amplified sound with him.

Location Information

RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
