A Walk To Remember (2005)

Janes Walk

Led By Gideon Lazarus

Take a walk through history with me: the year is 2005 and we’re spending the day in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Conversations about Youtube a new fangled platform to bring us joyful videos, or mournful tears for the late Pope John Paul II will abound. We’ll meet at the Brooklyn Public Library where I’ll start by setting our historical and temporal scene, then head into the park for some first hand encounters and audience participation into the past. There won’t be too much physical activity, but do expect to partake in mini performances if you choose and please bring any 2005 related memorabilia you may have! In the words of Marx, history happens twice, first as tragedy then as farce. So come have a laugh and some fresh air while we reminisce about what the past holds for us in the present.

Accessibility

About 15 minutes of walking into the park mostly on paved paths, some walking on the grass.
