A Winter Walk in Prospect Park

Vaux and Olmsted's Brooklyn Masterpiece

With Kate Papacosma

Few things are as invigorating as a good winter walk, and Prospect Park is a great place to do it! Join landscape historian Kate Papacosma on a 90-minute tour through this celebrated public space. The Park was designed to be beautiful year-round, and the bare trees allow us to see so much more than we would otherwise. Winter is when the “bones” of the completely designed Park shine through: sculpted hills and vales come into view, and the trees themselves reveal their true forms. So get some fresh air and exercise while you learn why the Park was built where it is, why it looks the way it does, and how it has (or hasn’t) changed as time has passed.
