Alphabet City Activism: A Look at 9th Street

This self-guided Jane’s Walk uses a sliver of Alphabet City to tell a story of activism and community in the East Village. We’ll start at 155 Avenue C, the home of MoRUS, check out the corner of 9th and C, and then head towards Tompkins Square Park.

You can access this walk anytime through Urban Archive app (for iPhone) or the Urban Archive website, or choose to follow along and enjoy the route as a self-guided in person walk.

Accessibility

This is a self-guided walk using the Urban Archive app or website. The route is just slightly over 1 block long and can be done at your own pace. There are no stairs. The closest subway station is 1st Avenue (L), and the walk can be accessed by the M14-D SBS, M8, or M9 bus.
