Accessibility
Attendees should expect an hour-long outdoor tour on accessible pathways– light rain or shine. We would suggest comfortable shoes, but the ground is paved, and the project will be open to the public. Attendees are asked to be mindful of the children and allow them ample space for play while exploring the site.
The Battery playscape is located at the tip of Manhattan in The Battery. It is accessible by foot, by bicycle on the Hudson River greenway, from the Staten Island Ferry, by subway: 4/5 Train to Bowling Green, R Train to Whitehall, W Train to Whitehall on weekdays, 1 Train to South Ferry, and by Bus: M55, M15, M15 Select Bus Service, M20 to South Ferry,
BM1, BM2, BM3, BM4, X1, X3, X4, X8, X14, X15 go to State Street and Battery Place, X10, X11, X12, X17, X19 to Battery Place. The Playscape and the surrounding landscape are universally accessible to all visitors (and there are accessible play options).
