Come Walk With Us: Queer Spatialization of Public and Private Sites in Working Class Central Harlem

Janes Walk

CANCELLED

Led By Gregory Baggett, Founder, A. Philip Randolph Square Neighborhood Alliance

This walk tells the story of LGBTQIA+ life and experience through the practices and places of the working class. We will visit public spaces, churches, residential homes, bars, and social clubs where LGBTQIA+ history has been erased or is negligible at best. Envisioned as a call to preserve this rich cultural heritage so that this place and the people who sought refuge here can fulfill its prophetic rebirth as the radical nexus of the global counter-culture.
