In the current era of urbanization of downtown Jamaica, this walk will emphasize existing and former structures (such as churches, cemeteries, houses, ponds, and civic organizations) that emerged during the colonial era. To commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution, tourists will be introduced to events in Jamaica, Queens that served as turning points in the American Revolution. Famous people (such as George Washington and Rufus King) and their connections to Jamaica will be highlighted.

This walk may include climbing stairs. Nearby transit: E train, and numerous buses run along Jamaica Avenue. The walk is approximately 3/4 of a mile.
