This tour explores the very diverse multi-cultural influences (African, Egyptian, English, Irish, Italian, Danish, German, Jewish, Chinese) that have shaped one of the most visited areas of NYC: “Chinatown.” Exploring the various geographic, political, and cultural transformations of this storied neighborhood, participants will gain an appreciation for an exemplary critical neighborhood understanding of cultivated urban/civic Americanness.
