Historic Images of Staten Island

With Bob Singleton

This will be the first MAS Tour of Staten Island led by veteran tour guide Bob Singleton. So let’s embark on the ferry (where else?) to a place that will surprise us. We start at Smithsonian Affiliate Snug Harbor and from there visit the Alice Austen House. Next, on to the Conference House, where an infant nation’s history was made, and then to Prince’s Bay, whose legendary oysters were once featured on London menus. Then something unique to New York City, a recreated settlement from earliest times, Historic Richmond Town. From Port Ivory and Kreischerville, hamlets that speak of a storied industrial past, to the highest point on the East Coast, Todt Hill with its multi-million dollar mansions, Staten Island never fails to impress and surprise.
