Jewels in the Crown: Crown Heights

Janes Walk

SOLD OUT

Led By Irv Weitzman

Crown Heights is rich in history and architectural contrasts; mansions share the street with dilapidated apt. houses. It contains the world’s first parkway, some of the few remaining alleys in NYC and it is the historical home of the Brooklyn Dodgers (the ONLY Dodgers — L.A. is not recognized). The walk will explore an orthodox Jewish community as well as an African American/Caribbean community containing remnants of a former Jewish presence.

Accessibility
primarily flat; now hills or stairs to climb
