More than a Memorial

Janes Walk

Led By Erin Donnelly, Reel New York City

Is it just me, or do other New Yorkers tend to avoid Ground Zero? Yet everyone remembers where they were that morning. Some of us have a personal connection to 9/11 but we as New Yorkers all had a collective experience of so much loss but what over time did we gain? On this Jane’s Walk, we will explore public art and architecture around the perimeter of the Memorial intentionally designed as a void to see what was returned and what was created anew. Twenty years on, the skyline and the canyons of Lower Manhattan have been reshaped. So let’s walk together and discover more about what brings locals back.
