A new addition to the city’s public art scene is the commission for the still very active Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport. Jeppe Hein, Sabine Hornig, Laura Owens and Sarah Sze were chosen to contribute glass windows, murals, furniture design and a most fascinating hanging sculpture to the open spaces of this transportation hub. Sarah Sze may be known to New Yorkers, but we will explore all these young talents’ work here and beyond, and consider the importance of air ports as public spaces and have a look at other remarkable artworks in NYC terminals.
