We start (1) at the center of the LGBTQ Rights Movement, the Stonewall National Monument,
2) cross the street for a photo opp in front of the Stonewall Inn, where the Stonewall Riot started
3) walk around the corner to Julius’ Bar, site of the “sip-in,”
4) walk to the AIDS Memorial,
5) head to the LGBT Community Center
6) cross the street to check out the plaque honoring the site of the First PFLAG Meeting at the Church of the Village,
7) walk to the site of the Oscar Wilde Bookstore, which sold books by LGBTQ authors
8) head to the site of the 8th Street Bookstore, an independent bookstore where LGBTQ authors did book readings,
9) Two Fifth Avenue, home of many LGBTQ leaders (including Larry Kramer & Edie Windsor) and
10) finish at Washington Square Park
Wear comfortable footwear; bring water.
