This tour is led by members of the Hill Street Garden Collective, a resident-led coalition of garden members, youth, and caregivers working to repair Hill Street Garden’s image, leadership, and systems. Participants will visit Hill Street Garden to learn how residents are organizing to expand access, shared governance, and food sovereignty in a borough often framed as distant or disconnected from movement work. The tour recontextualizes the “Forgotten Borough” by highlighting longstanding Black, Brown, and working-class immigrant organizing traditions and positioning green space as a site of repair, leadership development, and collective care.
Accessibility
Walk will be on some uneven surfaces within the garden.
