Follow us into Snug Harbor’s spooky underground tunnels, and learn fascinating history about the 83-acre grounds and the sailors who used to live here during the 19th and 20th centuries. Two tunnels remain under the grounds of Snug Harbor. Originally these tunnels were created as service routes, connecting the onsite power plant to various locations across the grounds and designed for better air circulation throughout the site for heating.
