Take a “Walk” on the Monumental Women NYC Women’s Rights History Trail

Janes Walk

Led By Brenda Berkman, Vice-President, Monumental Women

Monumental Women (MW), the all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization brought the first-ever statue honoring real women in the 167-year history of NYC’s Central Park. Focused on writing all women back into the historical record through an inclusive education campaign, MW developed its NYC Women’s Rights History Trail to teach people about and honor the diverse contributions of NYC women to the advancement of women’s rights. We’ve documented hundreds of historic places of interest and the list keeps growing. Learn how to use Monumental Women’s map of the five boroughs to find and visit — either virtually or in-person — locations where women’s history was made!
