Janes Walk

Led By Deborah Gardner, Roosevelt House at Hunter College, Roosevelt House at Hunter College

The original New Deal was shaped by President Franklin Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt at their NYC home 1908-41, a double townhouse, acquired by Hunter College in 1942. Renovations to this landmark preserved the building’s exterior and interior. Hear about the Roosevelt family’s lives as well as civic and political activities as they transformed the nation and the world with FDR’s New Deal and Eleanor’s human rights work at the UN.
