Towers on the Square

[In-person tour] In the early twentieth century, Union Square and Madison Square attracted some of Manhattan’s most distinctive skyscrapers. While some of these trendsetting towers are deservedly quite famous, such as the Flatiron and Metropolitan Life Buildings, others are less known and deserve more consideration, including impressive works by architect John Edelmann, friend and mentor of Louis Sullivan, as well as Warren & Wetmore, Bruce Price, and Cass Gilbert.
