New! West End-Collegiate Historic District

With James Russiello

[In-person] Marvel at some of the speculatively built handsome rowhouses, designed by the immensely talented Clarence True, Lamb & Rich, and C.P.H. Gilbert, all in a blend of French, Italian, and Flemish Renaissance revival styles that the last decade plus of the 19th century was known for. Named for the nearby West End Collegiate Church at 77th and West End Avenue, explore the West End-Collegiate Historic District and its extensions with preservationist and architectural historian James Russiello to see these rowhouses and the layers of development of succeeding apartment buildings built for the affluent as living styles evolved.
