Western Bedford Stuyvesant

With Suzanne Spellen & Morgan Munsey

[In-person tour] Our previous Bedford Stuyvesant tours have focused on central Bed Stuy and Stuyvesant Heights. This tour highlights the great architecture and history of western Bedford Stuyvesant. On its streets you’ll find great 19th century residential architecture, the mansion of one of Brooklyn’s great retail store families, a Carnegie Library, several fine houses of worship, schools, fancy clubhouses, and even some exemplary examples of Art Deco architecture. What? In Bed Stuy? Yes, indeed! We’ll tell you about important social movements, rogues, saints and bootleggers, all of which took place on these streets. Western Bedford Stuyvesant has a bit of everything. Join Suzanne Spellen and Morgan Munsey for this tour that we hope will become a favorite.

MAS in-person tours last approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours and are held outdoors, therefore no masks are required. If you prefer to wear a mask, though, we want you to feel comfortable doing so. Meeting location is provided with registration. With rare exceptions, MAS in-person tours take place rain or shine.

For all tours, there are no refunds, cancellations, or exchanges unless we cancel a tour. Online registration closes one hour prior to the tour start time.
