Sharpen your #2 pencils and put on your thinking cap— it’s time to learn about NYC Public Schools, the largest school district in the country, serving approximately one million children. But it wasn’t always a given that NYC kids would get an education. How did this vast system come to be? How do the many stakeholders come together to serve our youngest New Yorkers? Join two education researchers for a walk through downtown Manhattan as we learn about public education from the POVs of the many groups involved: NYC Public Schools, the mayor and politicians, teachers, students and families, and graduates.
