Walk with a Librarian: Mott Haven

Janes Walk

Led By David Nochimson, New York Public Library AND Hillary Clark, Librarian

The history of Mott Haven IS the history of New York. We will explore the neighborhood through historical library resources. Landmarks of practically every era are here, from the early days of New Amsterdam, to colonial and revolutionary New York, from the industrial revolution to the eras of European and Latin American immigration, through generations of urban growth, decay, renewal, struggle, and survival, each generation leaving its mark.
