Alice Austen: Changing Photographic of Rosebank

Janes Walk

Led By Zoe Tirado, Education Director AND Kristine Allegretti

Bring your cameras and join Alice Austen House teaching artists for a photowalk beginning at the historic home of Alice Austen. We will begin by photographing the Victorian Gothic cottage that was both Austen’s home and muse and journey together through Rosebank to the historic St John’s Episcopal Church where Austen’s infamous 1890 portrait ‘Trude and I, Masked, Short Skirts’ was taken.

Accessibility

We are located at 2 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY. There are small rises and changes in landscape at the park. The distance to St John's is approximately a 1/2 mile walk.

Location Information

RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
