Alice Austen

With Sylvia Laudien-Meo

[Virtual Tour] Alice Austen was a pioneering photographer who is known today for some of the earliest outdoor photographs documenting life in the streets of New York, our earliest quarantine stations, but also for her more private images of upper middle class life. Her home in Staten Island today is a NYC Landmark and museum. Join art historian Sylvia Laudien-Meo for a look at the life and photography of this courageous New Yorker and gay icon, as well as some of the other pioneering women photographers working around 1900. Please note that this tour begins at 7:00 PM instead of the usual 6:00 PM.

MAS Virtual Tours last 60 to 90 minutes and are not recorded for later viewing.
