Architecture of Endurance in Manhattan’s Chinatown

Janes Walk

Led By Myles Zhang, City as Living Laboratory

Take a self-guided walk through a section of Manhattan’s Chinatown focusing on the historical uses of land and public space, with historian and illustrator Myles Zhang. Each stop on this route will take us through time, drawing in insights from other writers, designers, scientists, and artists. To participate download the printable PDF or mobile slideshow, that will guide you from stop to stop along a mile-long loop, beginning at Bowery and Canal Street.

Accessibility

This route is step-free and the walk can be conducted at your own pace. Parts of this route, especially in market areas, have crowded sidewalks due to market stalls and street vendors.
