Before the Dodgers: A History of Early Brooklyn Baseball
Led By John Semlak
Brooklyn is known as the borough of churches, but it was once called the city of baseball clubs. In Brooklyn, organized baseball exploded in the 1850s, and arguably spread from there across the nation in the form we know today. This virtual walk will tour several old Brooklyn neighborhoods and their baseball connections with clubs like the Eckfords, the Tip Tops, and the mighty Atlantics.
This is a virtual walk. You can use a phone, tablet or computer but a desktop or laptop will offer the best experience.
RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
