At the start of the 20th century, Warren & Wetmore was one of New York City’s most prolific and esteemed architectural firms. Led by Matt Postal, this midtown walking tour mostly ignores their best-known work, Grand Central Terminal, and instead mainly examines their commercial production, particularly their role in the early development of the skyscraper. Highlights include Aeolian Hall, Stewart & Company, the Equitable Trust Building, and the always delightful New York Yacht Club.
