Come walk Brooklyn Bridge Park, the 1.5 miles of pristine public park along Brooklyn’s East River waterfront. On this 90 minute walking tour you’ll learn the story of how this once working waterfront became a forgotten wasteland before being transformed into the green urban oasis it is today. Walk past popular sports fields, wander through incredible gardens, and explore reclaimed ecosystems all while hearing three decades of stories of how community members, elected officials, designers, and public servants made this incredible park a reality – and the work that is required to maintain this treasure for future generations.
This walking tour will begin at the brand-new Pavilion at Pier 1, a LEED Platinum building situated atop a small knoll, with expansive views of the East River, the Manhattan skyline, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
