A Club Crawl, North from 55th Street

With Matt Postal

[In-person tour] As the 19th century came to a close, many exclusive Manhattan clubs moved north, settling on the Upper East Side, within walking distance of members’ homes. Led by architectural historian Matt Postal, the tour considers many distinguished examples, viewing grand and elegant purpose-built clubhouses designed by McKim Mead & White, Delano & Aldrich and Thomas Harlan Ellett, as well as handsome residences that were converted to club use in the mid-20th century. Highlights include the Cosmopolitan, Grolier, Knickerbocker, and Union Clubs, among others. [We do not go inside these private clubs.]

With rare exception, MAS tours take place rain or shine. For all tours, there are no refunds, cancellations, or exchanges unless we cancel a tour. Online registration closes one hour prior to the tour start time.

Registration is now closed.
