[In-person tour] Join us for a rare all-day excursion to the scenic and historic hamlet of Wassaic in upstate Dutchess County. Once a center of ironworks, dairy, and sheep grazing, Wassaic is now home to a vibrant art and music community. Artist Eve Biddle and historian Leo Blackman, both Wassaic residents, are our hosts. We will explore the local historic architecture and visit an active art studio. Someone from MAS will meet you at the Metro-North Wassaic train station. Please note, this is a long train ride, so plan your day accordingly. If you drive, there is limited metered parking at the station.
There is a Metro-North train to Wassaic that leaves Grand Central at 11:09 AM and arrives at 1:49 PM. Our tour of Wassaic will begin around 2:00 PM and last about two hours. There is a return train that departs Wassaic at 4:15. You may want to stay in Wassaic for a late lunch/early dinner and return on the 6:15 train. Train fare is not included in the tour ticket price.
