Daylighting and Living Shorelines: A Tour of Proposed Harlem River Restoration Sites

Janes Walk

Led By Emily Stephan AND Sara Powell, Hydrologist, NYC Parks

Join us to visit key sites of waterfront restoration identified in the recently released Harlem River Watershed Plan. Starting at the south end of Van Cortland Lake, we will discuss the status of efforts to daylight Tibbetts Brook and restore its connection to the Harlem River . We will then move south along the Harlem River to discuss planned stormwater management and living shoreline installation along the Greenway at Bridge Park South.

Accessibility

This is a video tour on YouTube, but if you choose to enjoy it as a self-guided in person walk, the route will be ~4 miles. It can be done in parts (accessible by walking, biking, or public transit). The stops will be wheelchair accessible. We will provide closed captioning on our video.
