Downtown Dames: Historic Women Celebrated in Public Spaces in Lower Manhattan

Janes Walk

Led By Phyllis A Sears, Founder @HerstoricalMonuments

Come hear the stories of the women honored with historical markers and statues below Chambers Street. We’ll discover suffragists, patriots, Nobel Prize winners, sport champions, adventurers, saints and royalty – women whose stories need to be shared again and again.
We will stay on city sidewalks and have opportunities to sit along the way on this two-mile-long walk.

Accessibility

We will stay on the city sidewalks. There will be no stairs on our route. The 4/5/6 Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall is accessible.

Location Information

RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
