Freewheelin’ Through Dylan’s Village

Janes Walk

Led By Robert Depczenski, Docent/Municipal Art Society of New York

Did you know that Jane Jacobs and Bob Dylan co-wrote a song protesting the development of the Lower Manhattan Expressway? They did, and it was titled “Listen Robert Moses.” This walk will follow the footsteps of Dylan, visiting places he gathered, lived, and performed. Crossing the Village streets, we’ll relive the forces that influenced his formative years and examine the synergy between genius and place.
