From New Amsterdam to New York: A Historical and Cultural Journey

We invite you to join us on this journey as we explore the origins of New York City from indigenous settlements, the establishment of the New Amsterdam colony to the arrival of the English and independence. We will explore the historical events, architecture, and urban development of this part of the city over time.

Accessibility

The walking tour will be conducted through the sidewalk of the streets, and parks and plaza paths. It is in general accessible. We can make adjustments if its neccesary to accomodate someone who need it. The begining is by the Staten Island FerryTerminal and trains R & 1 Stations. The ferry terminal has restrooms and food is available. The end of the tour is at Zuccotti Park, where there are plenty of benches to take a rest plus food carts. There are restrooms in the near McDonalds and by the Westfield, by the World Trade Center, one block away.
