We will take a history- and planned development-oriented walk through the Highbridge neighborhood, ending at the Bronx end of the High Bridge itself. Along the way, we will see vestiges of the Polo Grounds Shuttle, some well hidden and others hiding in plain sight. This area went from completely rural to completely urban within the span of a lifetime, a process that we will explore. There are good examples of every phase of development left, which have resulted in the eclectic nature of this little-traveled enclave.
