Lower East Side Art Galleries

What's New on the Downtown Art Scene

With Sylvia Laudien-Meo

The art scene in New York is continuously shifting. While Chelsea is being built up to perfection, many smaller galleries are moving out into alternative spaces in Manhattan, but also some younger art dealers are moving in, and the Lower East Side/ Chinatown is becoming increasingly more artsy, mixed with our favorite foods and the roaming grounds of our immigrant ancestors. The International Center of Photography found a new home on Essex Street as well, together with the new market space… art and food definitely go well together. You will have many places to choose from for lunch after the tour!
