MASterworks Explorations: Pier 57

2024 Winner for Best Adaptive Reuse

This fall, MAS is celebrating design excellence in New York City with our 2024 MASterworks Awards! We have curated a selection of in person explorations and online in-conversations with this year’s honored projects.

On Wednesday, October 9 from 5-6 PM, join MAS for a visit to Pier 57, 2024 MASterworks winner for Best Adaptive Reuse. Members of the project team, including John Ambrosini, Senior Property Manager at RXR, Cas Stachelberg, Principal at Higgins Quasebarth & Partners, and Sarah Sher, Associate Partner at Higgins Quasebarth & Partners, will lead the exploration. The team will take attendees all throughout the space, ending at the rooftop park.

The rebirth of Pier 57 is the result of a partnership b/w the Hudson River Park Trust, RXR, Young Woo & Associates, & the pier’s tenants, Google, City Winery, Jamestown, & the James Beard Foundation.Together, this group along with their consultants, blended long-term stewardship, sensitive restoration & design excellence to arrive at an adaptive reuse project that includes a new public rooftop park, commercial office space, a performance venue, a food market, & community spaces.
