[In-person tour] Battery Park is an outdoor museum of public art and monuments that celebrates New York’s long history and the people who have contributed to it. In addition to admiring the beauty of the artworks, the inspiration behind them, and their historical context, this tour will cover the long history of the area going back to New Amsterdam. We’ll also look at the façade of the nearby Alexander Hamilton Custom House and its spectacular reliefs and sculptures designed by one of the Gilded Age’s most prominent sculptors, Daniel Chester French.
