Monuments and Memorials: Wondering and Wandering in Battery Park

Janes Walk

Led By Mary Garvey

I’d like to explore the monuments and memorials in Battery Park with questions about their place in our world. And the place of memorials in our time. Do these memorials have the same meaning as they once had? Has their purpose changed? What is our need to remember and memorialize? What gets remembered or celebrated? Many questions with many possible answers.

Accessibility

Very accessible by public transit. There will be a lot of walking throughout Battery Park which does have some stairs.

Location Information

RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
