You’re invited to visit and learn about the transformative Moynihan Train Hall project, a dramatic and much needed expansion to the busiest transit hub in the Western Hemisphere: New York Penn Station. The project adapted the century-old Farley Post Office Building by leveraging its uniquely-suited architectural legacy to create a modern, world-class transportation facility and the civic heart of Midtown’s burgeoning west side—an idea first promoted by the late US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan more than a quarter century ago. Discover new insight into the history, art, architecture and design as you explore the facility.
Note, the tour will primarily be indoors, and is fully accessible. As a federally-regulated transit facility, CDC health requirements apply: as of early April masks must be worn by all visitors inside the facility.
Accessibility
The walk is fully accessible, and directly connected to the Penn Station transit complex (though note, construction in the LIRR concourse at Penn Station is ongoing so follow temporary signs to Moynihan Train Hall / 8th Avenue). There are Citibike racks on 8th Avenue. Only private parking lots and very limited street parking are available--driving is discouraged.
